The Full and Plenty Vineyard
Our vineyard is located at Steels Creek in the northern corner of the Yarra Valley, near the end of Full and Plenty Creek that was named by gold miners in the 19th century.
Only 4,736 Pinot Noir vines were planted in 1996; MV6 being the predominate clone. The soil is rocky clay and growing conditions tend to be cooler than other parts of the valley.
Our wine maker, Mac Forbes has developed European style Pinot Noir with lovely balance and structure which is delicious now, and excellent for cellaring. The wine making allows the characteristics of the fruit to come through. We manage and tend our own vines and believe that cane pruning, shoot thinning, leaf removal and fruit thinning result in the production of the best quality fruit and wine.
