2006 Pinot Noir
Our winemaker, Mac Forbes, has created a distinctive Pinot Noir with good balance and structure. The wine is unfiltered and shows the character of the fruit and our terroir. It is delicious now and may be cellared for a number of years.
2006 was a warm and stormy growing season in the Yarra Valley, with an early harvest. The grapes were picked when the acidity levels and fruit flavours were at their optimum level. The vines produced 0.8 tons per acre. The fruit was fermented in small open vats and aged in both new and old French oak barrels. The alcohol level is 12.8%. Production was limited to 1600 bottles.
